Module Descriptions:
Online access to each module will be granted one week before the start date for that module, even when all four modules are paid for up front. A total of 7.2 ceu's will be awarded if all four modules are completed and if requested.
Module One - Office Systems and Technology:
(6 weeks in length)
Topics covered will be technical terminology, hardware for computer operations, the network enterprise, document layout and design, systems security, systems software and software for business applications, office design and ergonomics.
Module Two - Office Administration:
(6 weeks in length)
Topics covered will include file management, composition and editing, research and reference, rules of grammar, and information distribution.
Module Three - Management:
(5 weeks in length)
Topics will include human resources, accounting procedures and analysis, time management, and communications (the last of the three modules required for the CPS exam).
Module Four - Advanced Organizational Management:
(6 weeks in length)
Topics include organizational planning, team-building skills, advanced administration, and advanced communication (required for the CAP exam).
Note: The CAP and CPS exams are two separate professional certifications of IAAP. New candidates may apply to take the three-part CPS exam or the four-part CAP exam. Both ratings cannot be attained at the same time. Four-part CAP candidates will not receive the CPS rating. Active CPS holders may apply to take Part 4 only of the CAP exam.
